Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane hit the NFL by storm early in his career. In Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, the Texas A&M product rushed 18 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 30 yards and two more scores. Through four NFL games, he accumulated over 500 yards of total offense and was averaging 12.1 yards per carry.
Unfortunately, the speedster suffered an injury in Week 5, forcing him to go on the Injured Reserve list. Fantasy managers are surely wondering when he'll return to the Miami lineup.
When is Achane coming back to action? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

De'Von Achane Latest Injury Update - November 15
De'Von Achane (knee) is being designated to return from Injured Reserve and will practice on Monday, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. Achane has already spent the required four games on IR and will now return to the practice field after the team was on bye in Week 10. This doesn't mean that Achane will be active in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but he's getting close to a return, at the very least. If the impressive rookie speedster looks good in practice this week, the Dolphins could officially activate him off IR later this week.
The 22-year-old burst onto the scene earlier this year with 460 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 38 carries in just four games, so he deserves to be stashed everywhere. It remains to be seen what Miami's backfield rotation will look like when he returns, but at the very least, Achane deserves his share of touches alongside Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr.
De'Von Achane Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Achane (knee) is expected to miss just four games, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The rookie was placed on injured reserve, which automatically sidelines him for a minimum of four games anyway. However, it seems like he'll be activated as soon as he is eligible.
This means the rookie will likely return after the team's Week 10 bye to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11.
It's unfortunate that he'll be out that long, but the good news is he will return just in time to make a big impact for fantasy managers.
De'Von Achane Fantasy Football Outlook
Although the Dolphins could opt to bring Achane back slowly, he should be started in fantasy lineups as soon as he's active. He can score double-digit fantasy points on one rushing attempt or reception, so his upside far outweighs any risk that he carries.
Running back production is often hard to come by since workhorse running backs are scarce, so relying on efficient and explosive ball carriers is the name of the game in 2023.
Miami is on pace to be a historic NFL offense, meaning Achane will have plenty of touchdown upside. He is a trade target before his expected return in Week 11.
