Brandon Pfaadt Strikes Out Seven In No-Decision
Brandon Pfaadt had a pretty solid Game 7 start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night in the National League Championship Series, all things considered. In four innings of work, Pfaadt gave up two earned runs on four hits (one homer) while walking two and striking out seven for a no-decision. Pfaadt kept the D-backs in the game and held down the offensive juggernaut of the Phillies for a 4-2 win to send Arizona to their first World Series since 2001. The 25-year-old has been a work in progress in his first MLB season, but he's peaking at the right time and has struck out 11.9 hitters per nine innings in his first 16 2/3 playoff innings. The Snakes can only hope he can keep this up against the Texas Rangers in the Fall Classic.

Brandon Pfaadt Earns Win In Solid Outing
Brandon Pfaadt was solid on Wednesday, allowing one run over 5 ⅔ innings in a 6-2 win over the Marlins. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out six. He finished one out shy of making this his fourth consecutive six-inning outing to begin the year, and he now holds a solid 3.04 ERA. It was nice to see his strikeouts back, as he had only 12 in 18 innings through his first three starts. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next time out, currently set to be against the Rays.

Diamondbacks Sign Brandon Pfaadt To Five-Year Extension
Brandon Pfaadt to an undisclosed five-year contract extension from 2026-30 with a club option for 2031 and a mutual option for the 2032 season. Pfaadt was previously set to hit free agency after the 2029 season. The D-backs are locking in one or their best young arms and buying out all of his arbitration years. The 26-year-old former fifth-round pick in 2020 out of Bellarmine University made his major-league debut in 2023 and has gone 14-19 with a 5.06 ERA (4.15 FIP) and 1.29 WHIP with 279 strikeouts and 68 walks in 277 2/3 innings over 51 appearances (50 starts) in his first two MLB seasons in the desert. On the surface, he disappointed with a 4.71 ERA in 32 starts in 2024, but he was a bit unlucky while improving both his strikeout and walk rates. Fantasy managers are hoping for a step forward in 2025.

Brandon Pfaadt Secures Starting Rotation Spot
Brandon Pfaadt has won the final spot in the rotation. The right-hander has done a nice job this spring with a 3.18 ERA and 13/2 K/BB ratio across 11 innings of work. Pfaadt was a healthy and capable option for the D-Backs last season. He registered a 4.71 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 185/42 K/BB ratio across 32 starts in 2024. This means, Jordan Montgomery and Ryne Nelson will head to the bullpen to begin the season. Neither pitcher is expected to offer much fantasy value as long relief options.
