Is Zach Charbonnet Injured or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Zach Charbonnet - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS and Betting Picks

Is Zach Charbonnet injured or healthy? Is Zach Charbonnet playing in Week 8? Read the latest Zach Charbonnet fantasy football injury updates and outlook.

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet was an exciting prospect coming out of UCLA and was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Since the Seahawks took him so early, many fantasy managers assumed he'd have a role right away in the Geno Smith-led offense.

However, he has not yet had a fantasy boom week and is in the injury headlines leading up to the Week 8 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Will Charbonnet play in Week 8? What is his fantasy football outlook? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Zach Charbonnet Injury Update for Fantasy Football

Charbonnet (hamstring) was inactive for the Week 7 win over the Arizona Cardinals with a hamstring injury. However, the rookie is running on Monday and could return to the lineup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. The Seahawks often make things confusing with their weekly injury reports, so this situation will be worth monitoring.

The rookie running back needs to get healthy to start to develop a role alongside Kenneth Walker, so hopefully, he can make his return in short order.

Zach Charbonnet Fantasy Football Outlook

Through five NFL games, Charbonnet has seen just 29 touches for 145 yards and no touchdowns. He's worth rostering as a premier handcuff running back, but his workload doesn't suggest fantasy-relevant output is coming.

Fantasy managers in ultra-deep leagues can utilize him as a desperation flex option in favorable matchups, but the Browns' defense is one of the best units in the NFL, meaning he's firmly off the fantasy radar.

If Walker has to miss any games this year, Charbonnet would become a chalk waiver wire add and would have at least RB2 upside. At this point in the season, stashing high-end backup running backs is often more advantageous than waiting for a wide receiver who is buried on their depth chart to break out.
