Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was the 34th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Watson had a productive college career, totaling 43 receptions for 801 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his final year at North Dakota State.
Unfortunately, the former second-round pick had a rocky start to his rookie season because of injuries. Yet, the former North Dakota State star ended the year playing well. He had 41 receptions on 66 targets for 611 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Watson’s production allowed the team to let Allen Lazard leave in free agency. Furthermore, the Packers didn’t add anyone to challenge the second-year player for the No. 1 wide receiver role in 2023. Unfortunately, he missed the first three games with a hamstring injury. Yet, Watson had five receptions on 11 targets for 116 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first two contests back.

What Did Christian Watson Accomplish In Week 7?
Last week, the second-year wide receiver was a popular start candidate. He was coming off his best performance of the year, totaling 91 receiving yards against the Las Vegas Raiders. Furthermore, the Packers had their bye in Week 6, giving Watson more weeks to put the hamstring injury behind him.
Unfortunately, the former North Dakota State star struggled against the Denver Broncos. He had three receptions on five targets for 27 receiving yards in the loss. Furthermore, Watson scored only 4.2 half-point PPR fantasy points in Week 7, totaling fewer points than Romeo Doubs (10), Jayden Reed (9.6), and Luke Musgrave (five).
Is Christian Watson Injured Or Healthy?
More importantly, the second-year receiver suffered a knee injury late in the loss to Denver. Watson has dealt with multiple knee injuries in the past, giving fantasy players reason to panic. Thankfully, the former North Dakota State star avoided a significant injury and should play in Week 8.
Hopefully, Watson is at 100% for the upcoming matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The NFC division rivals have won three of their past four games, including two straight. However, their pass defense is one of the worst in the NFL.
Minnesota has surrendered 32.6 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the sixth-most in the league. They have also given up six receiving touchdowns to wide receivers.
