Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford was the 156th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Ford had a productive college career, totaling 287 rushing attempts for 1,802 yards and 27 touchdowns in two years at Cincinnati. He also had 31 receptions for 282 yards and a touchdown in college.
The former Bearcat had a limited role as a rookie. He earned only eight rushing attempts for 12 yards. Ford mostly played on special teams but impressed the coaching staff enough to make him the No. 2 running back on the depth chart heading into the 2023 season.
Unfortunately, the second-year running back became the starter after Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2. Ford has played well this year. He is the RB17, averaging 12.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

What Did Jerome Ford Accomplish In Week 7?
Since taking over as the starting running back, the former Cincinnati star has scored double-digit fantasy points in all but one game. However, he had arguably the best performance of his career in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Ford had 11 rushing attempts for 74 yards and a touchdown. He also had two receptions for 20 yards in the game, scoring 16.4 fantasy points. Furthermore, the second-year player had a massive run for a touchdown early in the contest.
Is Jerome Ford Injured Or Healthy?
Unfortunately, he left the game after playing only 43% of the snaps because of an ankle injury. Reportedly, the second-year running back has a low-grade high ankle sprain and will miss 1-2 weeks. With Ford out the next week or two, the Browns will lean on Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong Jr. to carry the workload.
Hunt will get most of the workload with Ford out of the lineup. The veteran has spent the past four years in Cleveland. Furthermore, he has averaged 14.9 fantasy points per game over the past two weeks, thanks to scoring three rushing touchdowns.
Unfortunately, Hunt is rostered in 46.3% of ESPN and 65% of Yahoo leagues. If the veteran running back isn’t available, fantasy players should target Darrell Henderson Jr. Last week, he led the Los Angeles Rams backfield with 13.1 fantasy points.
