Martin Truex Jr. On Outside Looking In After Homestead
1 year agoMartin Truex Jr. did not have the greatest car on Sunday afternoon. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver saw his Championship Four chances take a major hit. This was right after Denny Hamlin hit the wall on the first turn. Truex Jr. reported that it felt like his engine was blowing up. Sure enough, after 237 laps, he had to shut the car down for the day. That dropped him to 29th on Sunday. With that result, Truex Jr. finds himself 17 points out of a playoff spot heading to Martinsville. It likely means the No.19 driver will have to win or rack up a very good finish and stage points next Sunday.
