Darnell Mooney Struggles In Win Over Raiders
1 year agoChicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney continues to deliver underwhelming performances, with his latest outing in Sunday's 30-12 victory over the Raiders resulting in just four catches for 32 yards. This season, Mooney has yet to surpass four receptions in a game and has found the end zone only once. Even with Justin Fields (thumb) ruled out, Mooney's production remained stagnant, a concerning trend given the limited and non-aggressive downfield passing game orchestrated by backup Tyson Bagent. Looking ahead to Week 8, the Bears are gearing up to face the Chargers in Los Angeles, a team that has allowed the second-most points to wide receivers this season. On paper, it is a favorable matchup. However, Mooney's inconsistency and the Bears' struggling passing attack raise doubts about his potential for a breakout performance. He remains best suited for deeper leagues and should be benched if Bagent is tasked with starting once again.
