Dodgers' First Base Coach Interviews For Cleveland Managerial Position
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough has interviewed with the Cleveland Guardians for their managerial opening. Former Guardians manager Terry Francona retired and McCullough makes sense as a candidate to fill his position. He's 43 years old and has been the Dodgers' first base coach for the last three seasons. Prior to coaching first base, he was the minor league field coordinator for Los Angeles for six years. The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya also noted that McCullough interviewed with both the Mets and the Royals when they had managerial openings as well. Whoever Cleveland ends up hiring will have some big shoes to fill. Francona led the Guardians to the postseason six times in 11 years, including a trip to the World Series back in 2016.
