Cole Kmet Trending Down For Week 7
1 year agoChicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet showed promise after Weeks 4 and 5, amassing 12 catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns. However, he regressed in the last game, recording just two catches on three targets for nine yards and no touchdowns in the Bears' 19-13 loss to the Vikings. Justin Fields' (thumb) early exit due to a thumb injury played a significant role in Kmet's underwhelming performance. Fields was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, setting up backup Tyson Bagent to make his first career start. The Bears' passing attack will likely struggle without Fields, as demonstrated in their last game. The Raiders' defense ranks middle of the pack in points allowed to tight ends, rendering Kmet a risky fantasy option given the quarterback uncertainty. Fantasy football managers should exercise caution if they have other options at tight end in Week 7.
