NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/20/23

There are only two games on today's slate, and they do rate well on the excitement meter the Flames in Columbus are the only team on a B2B and the Devils are in Long Island to take on the Islanders, the Devils haven't played since Monday which is weird this early in the season but hey we have hockey and TGIF!

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Jacob Marsktrom- DK $6.8K || FD $7.1K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

I wanted to use Sorokin but $8.6K is too expensive for a goalie, especially against the Devils. So, we'll choose the cheapest option and create a unique lineup tonight.

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Brock Nelson - DK $5.8K || FD $6.7K

Opponent - New Jersey Devils

Nelson had an impressive performance in the last game, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist against the Sabres. In the upcoming game, he will be facing the Devils who have had a tendency to focus more on their offense rather than defense in their first 3 games.

This should work in favor of Nelson, who scored 36 goals last year and is eager to continue his strong start to the season. In the first two games of the season, he has been leading the Islanders in shots per 60, ranking second in expected goals per 60, and scoring chances per 60. Considering the way the Devils have been playing so far, they may not be able to slow down Nelson.

Matt Coranato- DK $4.2K || FD $3.5K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets.

During training camp in Calgary, everyone was talking about Coronato's impressive shoot, which he has continued to demonstrate in both even strength and power play situations. The Flames seem to be focused on getting him more opportunities, particularly on the power play where he has already taken four shots and scored his only goal. Despite playing on the third line in the last game, Coronato's affordable price on FD makes him a strong consideration for your lineup tonight.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Noah Dobson- DK $5.4K || FD $5.3K

Opponent - New Jersey Devils

It's surprising that Dobson, one of the most promising young defensemen in the NHL, doesn't get much attention. He excels in shooting, blocking shots, running the Islanders' top Power Play unit, and playing over 22 minutes each game. Despite his impressive skills, he is never priced along with the big boys. However, we are always happy to include him in our lineups whenever he plays, and tonight is no exception. I would recommend locking him into every one of your lineups.
