1 year agoDetroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds (hamstring, toe) returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out the previous day. The fourth-year veteran saw his workload increase dramatically in Week 6 as rookie Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) was held out and David Montgomery (ribs) left the game early due to injury. Reynolds finished the game with a 61% snap share though it did not translate to fantasy success. With Reynolds now hindered by his own injuries, it will likely be Gibbs taking over as the Lions' lead back in Week 7. Rookie Devine Ozigbo, who reverted to the practice squad on Monday, could be back to add depth on Sunday and take on the backup roll if Reynolds suffers any setbacks.--Dan Stephens - RotoBaller

3 months agoDetroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds rushed eight times for 39 yards during Sunday's Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He also commanded two targets but was unable to haul in either pass. The 28-year-old has looked like a solid change-of-pace option in three games since David Montgomery (knee) went down, bringing his season totals to 139 rushing yards and 40 receiving yards. He remains a valuable backup for the Lions and handcuff for fantasy managers, but he can't be started in fantasy football as long as Jahmyr Gibbs is healthy. The highly anticipated return of Montgomery soon would also impact Reynolds, dropping him to third on the depth chart. At the moment, he's not on the fantasy radar for the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

3 months agoDetroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds (back) and linebacker Alex Anzalone (forearm) will suit up for Sunday night's pivotal matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. With David Montgomery (knee) sidelined, Reynolds will back up Jahmyr Gibbs in Week 18. However, the 28-year-old has been sparingly involved since Montgomery went down, so he's not expected to provide any fantasy value. As far as Anzalone is concerned, he hasn't played since mid-November. Fortunately, the Lions will get back one of their captains versus a potent Vikings offense.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 months agoDetroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds (back) is currently listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Reynolds seemed fine all week until popping up on the injury report on Friday. As a result, Reynolds gets tagged as questionable for this game with could leave the Lions shorthanded with David Montgomery (knee) already ruled out. That means, Jermar Jefferson would likely serve as the primary backup if Reynolds is unable to play. Last week, Reynolds rushed seven times for 31 yards while hauling in both his targets for 35 yards in the win. Reynolds could be a possible deep league option for fantasy managers still in championship games this weekend. Otherwise, Reynolds can be avoided for this big Sunday night matchup.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 months agoAccording to Nolan Bianchi of the Detroit News, running back David Montgomery (knee) has been ruled out and running back Craig Reynolds (back) is listed as questionable for Week 18. Montgomery has been sidelined since suffering an MCL sprain during their Week 15 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Montgomery is currently eyeing a potential return in the postseason. Reynolds popped up on the injury report on Friday as a non-participant which is not a positive sign for his status for Sunday night. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Jahmyr Gibbs to lead the backfield once again and carry elite RB1 upside. If Reynolds were to be ruled out, Jermar Jefferson will likely slot in as the No.2 option. Jefferson saw a handful of carries near the goal line last weekend but Gibbs led the way as he tallied over 160 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
