Following Mike Williams' (knee) season-ending injury, opportunities have really opened up in the powerful Chargers' passing game.
Rookie Quentin Johnston was expected to see an uptick in snaps, but that's yet to happen. Third-year receiver Joshua Palmer has benefited the most and is seeing great usage.
Will this trend continue and lead to big days from Palmer? Should you pick him up in fantasy leagues following his performances over the last couple of weeks?

What Did Joshua Palmer Do In Week 6?
Joshua Palmer finished Monday night's game with four catches on seven targets for 60 yards and no touchdowns. He led the team in routes run (44) and trailed only Keenan Allen in targets.
In the two games without Williams, Palmer is tied for the team lead in targets (15) and is getting all the snaps alongside Allen. He's currently one of two Chargers' receivers who are playing almost every pass snap, giving him plenty of opportunity.
Palmer saw numerous big plays get called back due to penalties on the offensive line. Coordinator Kellen Moore clearly wants to get the young receiver involved, and he's getting a great amount of playing time at the moment.
Were There Any Worrying Signs With Joshua Palmer In Week 6?
Despite finishing with the most routes run on the team, Palmer had a mediocre outing due to plays that were nullified and his failure to find the end zone. The Chargers' wide receiver has only received two red zone targets in the two games without Williams, suggesting that Justin Herbert might be looking to other options for scoring.
The opportunity is certainly present, but Palmer will need to either produce big plays or convert more of his targets into receptions to become a reliable option moving forward.
Having the opportunity to run this many routes and garner targets in a potent, pass-heavy offense like the Chargers is a fantasy manager's dream. While the output hasn't been eye-popping, there remains potential for growth.
Should I Pickup Joshua Palmer Off the Waiver Wire?
Week 7 brings a significant divisional matchup against the Chiefs, who currently rank 26th in points allowed to wide receivers this year. However, it's unlikely that you'll find another waiver wire receiver receiving as much volume as Palmer. The Chargers are among the top 10 passing offenses in terms of EPA/play, and he is one of only two receivers shouldering a full workload on this team.
While Quentin Johnston may eventually cut into some of Palmer's targets, the Chargers' frequent use of 12 personnel (41% of the time) has left Palmer and Allen as the two receivers who are on the field for every snap.
The young receiver has consistently been a target for Herbert, making him a compelling option for the remainder of the season within the high-scoring Chargers' offense. With a substantial target share and a talented young quarterback, it's advisable to add Palmer to your roster if he's available in any of your fantasy leagues.
