Cristian Javier Slated To Start Game 3 Of ALCS
1 year agoHouston Astros right-hander Cristian Javier will get the nod in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday in Texas against the Rangers as the Astros look to avoid falling down three games to none in the best-of-seven series. Javier will also be trying to hand the Rangers their first loss of this postseason. The 26-year-old won Game 3 of the ALCS against the Minnesota Twins by throwing five shutout innings with five walks and nine strikeouts. Javier will need to limit the free passes if he wants to remain spotless in his second road postseason start this year. In his lone start against the Rangers during the regular season on July 3, Javier had an outing to forget, coughing up a season-high eight earned runs (two homers) while striking out four in 4 1/3 innings in Arlington.
