Carson Hocevar Should Finish Better Than He Runs
1 year agoCarson Hocevar makes his return to the Cup Series at Las Vegas tomorrow for his sixth start of the season after skipping the Charlotte roval race. Since the 20-year-old wunderkind signed with Legacy Motor Club, the team has gotten significantly faster, but the veteran Erik Jones has been the main beneficiary of that, as Jones ranked seventh-fastest or better in three of the races Hocevar started, most notably Kansas, where he ranked third in speed. Hocevar himself delivered an electrifying performance at Bristol, where he finished eleventh and ranked ninth in speed, but while Hocevar was faster there, Jones was faster in every superspeedway race. Hocevar has shown incredible racecraft for such a young age with top twenty finishes in every race he finished after Noah Gragson ran significatly worse, so expect a solid finish in the upper midfield for Hocevar, but also expect Jones to outrun him.
