Intermediates A Strength For Joey Logano
1 year agoAlthough Joey Logano was eliminated from the first round of the playoffs and shockingly only ranks 17th in speed this year, he has been marginally faster on intermediates than most other track types. Logano did not complete enough laps in the spring event at Las Vegas to have an accurate speed ranking, but he did sit on the pole and lead the first nine laps before being overtaken by eventual winner William Byron. Logano's fastest intermediate race came in the second race of the season at Fontana when he ranked third, but discounting that race and the Atlanta drafting races, Logano's fastest intermediate races came at Kansas where he ranked 12th and 14th. He qualified ninth and second-fastest amongst the Fords on what is not a good track type for them, but he probably won't have the speed for much more than a top ten.
