Kyle Wright Undergoes Shoulder Surgery
1 year agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) had surgery to fix a torn capsule in his right shoulder on Wednesday, according to the team. The surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas. Wright is now expected to miss the entire 2024 season. The 28-year-old just wasn't able to stay healthy in 2023 after a breakout season in 2022 in which he posted a career-best 3.19 and won 21 games for the Braves. He managed to make just nine big-league appearances (seven starts) in the regular season this year and had a rough 6.97 ERA (5.19 FIP), 1.84 WHIP, 17 walks and 34 strikeouts in 31 innings pitched. Wright will now look to rehab all of next year before trying to bounce back in 2025.
