Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett will not be in the lineup for Thursday night's season opener on the road versus the Minnesota Wild. The feisty pivot is dealing with a lower-body injury and "won't be too much longer", according to Panthers bench boss Paul Maurice. A swiss-army knife up front for the Panthers, Bennett contributes across the board for fantasy managers. He recorded 16 goals and 40 points across 63 regular-season games last season while also adding 54 penalty minutes, 193 shots on goal, 150 hits, and a plus-five rating while skating in a solid 17:24 of ice time per game. At this point, he is certainly a worthwhile injury stash and is a sneaky contributor in deeper leagues.
