Jared Goff Has Plenty Of Upside Despite Tough Matchup
1 year agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has thrown for 1,265 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions through five games. He's also scored twice on the ground. Even with Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) out last week, he scored four total touchdowns. That said, the veteran signal-caller is not a player to automatically bench when facing tough matchups. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have allowed the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game this season. Its defense limited Kirk Cousins, Justin Fields, and even Jalen Hurts. That said, Goff is riskier this week, but he still offers plenty of upside, especially since St. Brown is trending toward returning. If Goff can find the end zone twice, he will likely be on his way to another QB1 performance. Depending on your quarterback options, he might still be worth starting.
