NFL DFS Rankings for DraftKings, FanDuel - Week 6 Picks for Cash and GPP Contests

Week 6 is here and we actually get one more game than we did in Week 5 with only two teams on the bye. This is an interesting slate as it won’t feature some of the biggest teams in the league: the Chiefs, Ravens, Cowboys, Chargers, and Bills are all playing in island games. That opens up opportunities for some under-the-radar teams to step up and lead the slate.

Also being given opportunities to lead the slate will be a number of backup players as some of the biggest stars who could have been on the slate are injured. De’Von Achane won’t play with a knee injury. Anthony Richardson is out with an AC joint injury. Justin Jefferson and James Conner were both placed on IR. Mike Evans and Tee Higgins are banged up and may not play. Who will step up and be a value play worth using?

Six games have totals of 43 or more points, but none currently are projected to surpass 50 total points. That means this slate should be tight and small decisions will separate you from the rest of the pack. This week should be a really fun one. There are quite a few great plays available on DK for Week 6, but my goal is to create a hierarchy of plays so you know who to prioritize when building your lineups! Also, be sure to check out all of our other great NFL DFS articles and NFL DFS tools to help you win big!

DraftKings NFL DFS Cash Rankings - Quarterbacks

Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals- $6,200)

Two weeks ago people were ready to write him off, and now he’s looking like one of the safest quarterback options on the slate. Joe Burrow looked phenomenal in Week 5 and he should continue that in Week 6 against a Seattle secondary that has allowed over 300 yards passing to every team they’ve faced that didn’t have Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback. Joe Burrow is most decidedly not Daniel Jones.

Even when Burrow wasn’t looking good, he was getting volume with 40 or more attempts in three of his five games this season (and 30 or more attempts in every game). While the numbers last week looked great, what was most encouraging was how Burrow was moving around in the pocket. He looked spry and was able to move laterally and step up in the pocket to avoid the pass rush. Doing that allowed him to buy enough time to find his pass catchers for a monster week. Burrow at his best is a player who should cost in the neighborhood of $8,000. He’s only $6,200 this week, and that makes him a better value than any quarterback on the slate; an easy click as your cash option at a $1,100 savings over Justin Fields

  • Justin Fields (Chicago Bears - $7,300)
  • Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars- $6,500)

Others in consideration: Matthew Stafford, Brock Purdy, Desmond Ridder

DraftKings NFL DFS GPP Rankings - Quarterbacks

Desmond Ridder (Atlanta Falcons - $5,000)

Desmond Ridder is far from a sure thing, but he’s been incredible in his last two home games with 22.38 and 29.16 DraftKings points. Most encouraging was that he averaged 37.5 attempts in those games, and it’s starting to seem like Ridder can be effective when he’s actually allowed to throw. This week he’s at home once again, and he’s facing a Commanders team that’s allowed 30 or more real-life points to each of their last four opponents.

Stacking Ridder with his top two pass catchers, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts, is so ridiculously inexpensive that you can do just about anything you want with your secondary stack (Ja’Marr Chase/Kenneth Walker is a very tasty option). Despite the narrative to the contrary, London and Pitts have seen more than enough volume to justify their use in a GPP. London has seen six or more targets in all but one game this year, and Pitts has games of nine and eleven targets in his last three games. If those targets can turn into touchdowns, then this is a stack that can pay off hugely.

    • Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams - $6,100)
    • Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals - $6,200)
Others in consideration: Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Jimmy Garoppolo

DraftKings NFL DFS Cash Rankings - Running Backs

Raheem Mostert (Miami Dolphins - $6,400)

The Carolina Panthers are the most generous team to opposing running backs this year. The Miami Dolphins have the most fearsome rushing attack in the NFL this year. De’Von Achane is out with a knee injury. That leaves Raheem Mostert as the running back who should see the most work this weekend in this amazing matchup. Mostert is a little banged up himself, but if he’s active for this game then he’s in line for a monster matchup.

While it’s true that Achane has assumed the role of top running back for the Dolphins, it’s not like Mostert has gone completely silent. In fact, he’s scored 13 or more DraftKings points in four of his five games this year, and in the two games where he was the primary focus of the running game (19 or more opportunities), he scored 28.7 and 45.2 DraftKings points. In this game, against this opponent, a game of 20 opportunities would be huge.

  • D’Andre Swift (Philadelphia Eagles - $6,100)

Others in consideration: Alexander Mattison, Emari Demercado, Christian McCaffrey

DraftKings NFL DFS GPP Rankings - Running Backs

Kenneth Walker (Seattle Seahawks - $6,700)

There is nothing at all to not like about Kenneth Walker’s volume this year. He’s had at least 17 opportunities in every game and has scored at least one touchdown in all but one game. Walker isn’t a big receiving threat, but he does have two or more targets in all but one game so far.

The Bengals do not possess a good rush defense. They have allowed more than 142 rushing yards in all but one game this year. This includes Week 5 where the Cardinals rushed for 142 yards despite James Conner getting hurt early in the game. Seattle is going to want to slow the game down a little bit to keep the ball out of Joe Burrow’s hands, and that means more chances for Walker.

The one thing we haven’t yet seen from Walker this year is his game-breaking ability, but we sure saw that last year when he was a long touchdown-scoring machine. He makes for an excellent bring-back on the other side of a Bengals stack, or as the other side of a Ja’Marr Chase secondary stack.

  • Alexander Mattison (Minnesota Vikings - $5,600)

Others in consideration: Alvin Kamara, Raheem Mostert, Kyren Williams, Joe Mixon, Christian McCaffrey

DraftKings NFL DFS Cash Rankings - Wide Receivers

Calvin Ridley (Jacksonville Jaguars - $6,700)

Ja’Marr Chase is the top receiving option on the slate, but he’s going to make an appearance on the GPP list, so Calvin Ridley is going to take the spot here. Ridley exploded in Week 1 and the narrative is that he’s slowed down a lot since then but that’s not really all that true. He’s had seven or more targets in all but one game so far this year and that’s the kind of floor to look for in cash games. He’s also got quite a bit of upside, as evidenced by his two games of 20 or more DraftKings points in the first five games of the season.

This week’s matchup against the Colts is one that he should be able to exploit. Indianapolis doesn’t give up a lot of real-life points, but they do get passed on pretty easily and they’ve been especially generous to opposing top receivers; DeAndre Hopkins last week, Puka Nacua in Week 4, Tank Dell in Week 2, and Calvin Ridley himself in Week 1. We’ve seen him exploit the matchup once, and now he gets to do it again at home. At under $7,000, Ridley is a value worth using in your cash game lineup.

Others in consideration: Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Chris Godwin, Jordan Addison, Adam Thielen, Josh Downs, Drake London, Josh Reynolds (if Amon Ra St Brown is out),

DraftKings NFL DFS GPP Rankings - Wide Receivers

Ja'Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals - $8,300)

We see it all the time; a star player complains about not getting the ball and the next week they get fed. Ja’Marr Chase said after Week 4 that he was open all the time, and in Week 5 he saw 19 targets. While it’s not likely that he will see that level of volume again, he’s going to still get fed. If Tee Higgins doesn’t return, the volume could once again be very significant.

Chase could be very popular this weekend coming off his monster Week 6, but it’s okay to play highly-owned players if you find other ways to get different in your lineups. One way to do that this weekend is to not stack Chase with Burrow, but instead to use a Chase/Walker secondary stack with a Falcons, Rams, Jaguars, or Raiders primary stack.

  • Drake London (Atlanta Falcons - $4,800)
  • DJ Moore (Chicago Bears - $6,500)

Others in consideration: Jordan Addison, Adam Thielen, Tyreek Hill, Jakobi Meyers, Puka Nacua, Michael Pittman, Brandon Aiyuk, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Trey Palmer (if Mike Evans is out)

DraftKings NFL DFS Rankings - Tight Ends

Kyle Pitts (Atlanta Falcons - $3,500)

The Washington Commanders have been horrible on defense this year, giving up 30 or more real-life points in four straight games. The Falcons passing offense has been strong in their last two home games. Kyle Pitts has seen a good amount of volume recently with games of nine and eleven targets over his last three games.

If Pitts continues to play this way, then this could be the last time you can get Pitts as inexpensive as $3,500. Let’s not forget that Pitts is an athletic freak and his upside is off the charts. Given the right matchup, he’s got the ceiling to make for a strong GPP play and his volume of late has been exactly what you’d look for in a value cash game option.

Others in consideration: Logan Thomas, Tyler Conklin, TJ Hockenson

DraftKings NFL DFS Rankings - D/ST

Miami Dolphins - $3,500

This isn’t a strong week for defenses, so it actually makes some sense to spend up. The Dolphins haven’t had a great year defensively, but this is a good matchup for them. Bryce Young has turned the ball over at least once in every game this year, with four interceptions and two fumbles lost.

Miami does the one thing that’s coveted from a fantasy defense, and that’s attack the quarterback. They have three or more sacks and eight or more DraftKings points in three of five games this year. Bryce Young has 30 or more attempts in every game this year, so the volume of dropbacks is going to be there for Miami to put some pressure on him. The Dolphins have also allowed 20 or fewer points in three of five games this year, so there are some points allowed upside for them as well in this matchup.

  • Los Angeles Rams - $3,700
  • Philadelphia Eagles - $3,800
