Ross Chastain Needs A Big Day At The Roval
1 year agoOn Saturday afternoon, Ross Chastain qualified 12th for the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Heading into Sunday's race, Chastain is 11th in the playoff standings, three below the cutoff line for the round of eight. Unfortunately, the Roval has been a challenge for the Trackhouse Racing star, which does not bode well for him entering the weekend. In his four Cup starts in this configuration, he has yet to crack the top five and has an average finish of just 26.5. Considering he is a driver that must have a strong finish, if not an outright win, I expect The Watermelon Man to be extremely aggressive in this race, which is not ideal for this particular track. Between his lack of success and the discipline it takes to succeed on the Roval, I would recommend fading the No. 1 this weekend.
