Chicago Blackhawks center Colin Blackwell (sports hernia) skated after practice on Saturday. The 30-year-old had sports hernia surgery all the way back in March and was supposed to recover in three months. However, Blackwell still wasn't fully healthy when training camp kicked off. He has now taken a step towards a potential return, although it's still unclear when Blackwell will be game-ready. The American forward posted 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 53 games with the Blackhawks last season. It was an unproductive campaign for him, but Blackwell has previously proven himself as a useful bottom-six piece, having averaged over 0.4 points per game for the New York Rangers and Seattle Kraken in previous years. --Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
