With the Week 5 slate of the NFL season on the horizon, it's time for fantasy managers to decide between flex or streaming options in their starting lineups. Jakobi Meyers, AJ Dillon, and Jared Goff are all hot names ahead of Sunday and Monday games.
Meyers has posted solid outings when Jimmy Garoppolo is active, Dillon has failed to make a fantasy impact this season, and Goff always has upside, but a lack of rushing hurts his fantasy floor and ceiling.
Should you start Meyers, Dillon, or Goff in Week 5? Let's dive in.

Should I Start Jakobi Meyers for Fantasy Football?
In two games with Jimmy Garoppolo, Meyers has hauled in 16 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. It's worth noting those two performances were against the lackluster pass defenses of the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. In Week 4 with Aidan O'Connell at quarterback, Meyers was held to just two receptions for 33 yards.
In Week 5, Meyers draws a matchup with the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The Packers have surrendered the 10th-fewest fantasy points to wideouts this season. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Chris Olave had nice games against its defense, but those two are clearly No. 1 options who are superior talents to Meyers.
Ultimately, Meyers is a shaky fantasy option in Week 5, but his rapport with Garoppolo keeps him as a high-end WR3 play. Assuming Jimmy G plays, he could produce a solid outing for fantasy managers.
He is the WR29 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start AJ Dillon for Fantasy Football?
Through the first four weeks of the regular season, Dillon ranks 54th in total fantasy points among running backs. The Boston College product has just 118 rushing yards of 44 carries and zero touchdowns.
With Aaron Jones likely to be off a pitch count in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders, Dillon is a clear stayaway based on his early-season production. Even though Las Vegas has allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to running backs, Dillon's ineffectiveness has him looking like a drop candidate rather than a starter in fantasy lineups.
He is the RB37 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Jared Goff for Fantasy Football?
So far this season, Jared Goff has completed nearly 70% of his passes for 1,029 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. He's also scored once as a runner. The Lions' offense has picked up right where it left off last season as one of the best units in football.
Since Goff does not often add rushing production to his fantasy point total, he needs a 300-yard passing game and multiple touchdowns to contend for a top-five weekly quarterback spot. However, he's usually a safe bet to deliver multiple scores and should have no issue putting up points in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina has given up 25.5 points per game this season (seventh-most). He's a great fantasy QB option this week.
He is the QB9 in our consensus staff rankings.
