Eric Haase Becomes A Free Agent
1 year agoCleveland Guardians catcher Eric Haase elected to become a free agent on Wednesday. Haase began the 2023 season with the Detroit Tigers before joining the Cleveland Guardians. In 89 total games with both teams, he hit just .201 (55-for-274) with four home runs, eight doubles, a triple, four stolen bases and 22 runs scored in 293 plate appearances. He's been trying to replicate his 22-homer season in 2021 with the Tigers but hasn't been able to, and now he'll be looking to latch on with another team this winter. The 30-year-old backstop is a career .225/.276/.391 hitter with 41 home runs, 137 RBI, six stolen bases and 113 runs scored in 323 games over six big-league seasons with the Tigers and Guardians.
