UCL DFS Goalies
Goalies
Orjan Nyland - DK $4.4K || FD $9
Opponent - PSV Eindhoven
Playing away as an underdog is never the most successful recipe when choosing a goalkeeper, however, it can provide massive dividends. Sevilla dropped the ball in their first Group Stage match at home against RC Lens two weeks ago, drawing 1-1. Now they must travel to Philips Stadium for their first true test of the 23-24 Champions League chapter. PSV is coming off yet another resounding victory, defeating FC Volendam at home 3-1. Even though they scored three or more goals once again in domestic play, it was against bottom-of-the-league competition. The only impressive victories they have had this season were the two victories over Sturm in the Champions League Qualifications. Their second big match and first of the Group Stage, was a major loss, losing 4-0 at Arsenal. Sevilla may not be the most offensive-savvy club, but they play good defense and Nyland could be in store for a big game here.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Ulreich (DK $6K || FD $14), Raya (DK $5.5K || FD $12)
UCL DFS Forwards
Harry Kane - DK $9.9K || FD $24
Opponent - FC Copenhagen
To no surprise, Harry Kane is the featured striker on the slate for Day 1 of Matchweek 2. The new Bayern frontman had 1 goal, 1 assist, 4 shots, 4 created chances and 1 clearance in his first Champions League game with the German club. Furthermore, in his last five domestic fixtures, he has 7 goals, 2 assists, 17 shots, 6 created chances, 6 crosses, 2 tackles, 2 interceptions and 4 clearances. Copenhagen has had a less-than-stellar start to their season, despite them being first in the Superliga. The league leaders have struggled to prevent clubs from scoring on them and it could be a big issue going up against a prolific striker and club overall. As the most expensive striker on the slate, Kane is still expected to maintain value.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Saka (DK $9.8K || FD $22), Hojlund (DK $6.1K || FD $17)
UCL DFS Midfielders
Joshua Kimmich - DK $7K || FD $19
Opponent - FC Copenhagen
Although Bayern possesses the highest odds to win tomorrow, Kimmich is the same salary as most of the set-piece takers on the slate. This is a massive let off and he should garner copious amounts of ownership in the majority of contests. In his performance against Manchester United, Kimmich had 1 assist, 1 created chance, 5 crosses, 5 corners and 3 tackles. Throughout his last five domestic fixtures, he has 3 assists, 6 shots, 14 created chances, 36 crosses, 29 corners, 13 tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 clearances and 1 block. Kimmich does slot into the starting XI as a defensive midfielder, however, he plays as a more advanced midfielder in most cases supporting the attack. Due to this and his manageable salary, he is one of the prime midfielders for tomorrow’s slate.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Fernandes (DK $9K || FD $23), Fulgini (DK $5.9K || FD $13)
UCL DFS Defenders
Federico Dimarco - DK $5.8K || FD $12
Opponent - Benfica
Dimarco is ‘underpriced’ once again due to sharing set-pieces with teammate Hakan Calhanoglu who may start. Although, Dimarco also has open-play value slotting in at LWB/LM. In his last five domestic fixtures this season, he has 1 goal, 3 assists, 8 shots, 13 created chances, 43 crosses, 14 corners, 7 tackles, 1 interception, 3 clearances and 1 block. Benfica is a good club on both ends of the pitch, but they are susceptible to the counter-attack. With a lack of ‘floor’ defenders on the slate, Dimarco is a MUSt to at least consider in ‘CASH’ game contests.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Zinchenko (DK $3.9K || FD $9), Reguilon (DK $3.7K || FD $11)
Corner Takers
- Manchester United: Fernandes
- Galatasaray: Demirbay/Angelino/Akturkoglu
- FC Copenhagen: Goncalves
- Bayern Munich: Kimmich
- RC Lens: Fulgini
- Arsenal: Saka
- PSV Eindhoven: Veerman
- Sevilla: Rakitic
- SSC Napoli: Politano
- Real Madrid: Bellingham
- Inter Milan: Dimarco/Calhanoglu
- Benfica: Di Maria/Kokcu
Thanks for reading The Kick-Off. Good luck in all of your contests today!
