Los Angeles Rams Matthew Stafford was the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Stafford had an excellent college career, totaling 7.731 passing yards and 51 touchdowns in three years at Georgia.
The former Bulldog had an outstanding career with the Lions. He completed 62.6% of his pass attempts for 45,109 yards and 144 touchdowns in 12 years in Detroit. After over a decade with the Lions, the team traded him to the Rams during the 2021 offseason.
Stafford played well in his first year in Los Angeles, totaling 4,886 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, leading the team to a Super Bowl victory. However, he struggled to stay healthy last year, missing eight games.

Is Matthew Stafford Injured Or Healthy?
Despite not having Cooper Kupp, the veteran quarterback has played well this season, totaling 1,129 passing yards and three touchdowns. However, he suffered a hip pointer Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Thankfully, Stafford was able to finish the game. More importantly, the veteran quarterback reportedly will play in Week 5.
Should I Start Matthew Stafford in Week 5?
The former No. 1 overall pick has been one of the top passers this season. He had the fourth-most passing yards in Week 4.
Meanwhile, Stafford faces the Philadelphia Eagles this coming week. Despite having several elite names on defense, they have struggled to slow down opposing passing attacks. The Eagles have surrendered 279 passing yards, 2.3 touchdowns, and 20.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season.
However, Philadelphia has an elite pass-rush unit. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles offensive line has struggled to protect Stafford this year, giving up 2.3 sacks per game. Fantasy players might want to temper their expectations for the veteran quarterback, even if Kupp makes his season debut against the Eagles.
C.J. Stroud is a better starting option in Week 5. The rookie quarterback has averaged 323.3 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 21.3 fantasy points per game since Week 1, totaling at least 280 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 20.6 fantasy points in every contest. While he faces a solid Atlanta Falcons defense, the former Ohio State star is becoming borderline matchup-proof.
