Daniil Tarasov Doubtful For Start Of Season
1 year agoColumbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov (knee) is in danger of missing the start of the season. The Russian netminder hurt his knee in practice before training camp started, and it's unclear if he can recover in time for the team's season opener, which comes on Oct. 12 versus Philadelphia. The Blue Jackets added Spencer Martin to the roster off waivers last week to beef up their goalie department, and he looks set to begin the season as Elvis Merzlikins' backup if Tarasov can't make it back in time. Tarasov posted a decent 5-5-0 record in the NHL last season, but his save percentage was at a lowly .882, and the 24-year-old gave up nearly four goals a night (3.85).
