Denny Hamlin's Championship Hopes In Great Shape After Talladega
1 year agoTalladega Superspeedway is always an unpredictable race track, and that makes it daunting for drivers in the Playoffs who are just trying to survive to keep their Championship hopes alive. In this weekend's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, 'survive' is exactly what Denny Hamlin did, as he overcame a pit road penalty mid-race to rally for a third-place finish at the end. This result puts Hamlin 50 points above the cut line in Playoffs with just one race remaining until the field is cut from 12 to eight. After the race, Hamlin stated, "Not how we drew it up, but a dub (W) is a dub, and that was a dub in our book."
