Sam Howell’s Late-Game Heroics Come Up Short In Week 4
1 year agoWashington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell completed 29-of-41 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown along with six carries for 40 yards in Sunday's overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. After a disastrous Week 3, the former Tar Heel improved immensely in Week 4. He was solid throughout the game, but his best came when the lights were brightest. To tie the game at 31, Howell led a 64-yard drive that was capped off by a buzzer-beating touchdown to wide receiver Jahan Dotson. A loss isn't the result the Commanders wanted, but they have to feel good about what they saw from their second-year signal caller. Howell will aim to keep his success going in Week 5 against the woeful Chicago Bears.
