The Watchlist: October - Fantasy Premier League Predictions, Tips, and Picks for 2023/24

FPL October Watchlist, predictions, tips, and picks for Fantasy Premier League lineups. RotoBaller's EPL fantasy football September Watchlist for the 2023/24 FPL season.

Welcome to The Watchlist for October, RotoBallers! This is the third year covering FPL on the site, and we are bringing you more coverage than ever before. We will publish the Gameweek Preview, consisting of a Staff Roundtable and our rankings every week. Then, once a month, we will publish our newest article, The Watchlist.

September started with an international break, but it's been pedal to the metal since FPL returned. Man City and Liverpool lost for the first time this season, and managers began to activate their Wildcards. Tottenham assets have become essential, Man United players are getting sold every minute, and Kieran Trippier is back on the FPL radar. With three gameweeks coming up in October, we look at who has over and underperformed in September and who is due for regression next month.

The Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 8 deadline is 6:00 AM EST on Saturday, October 7, for the Luton Town-Spurs clash. Also, look out for the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every English Premier League, Major League Soccer, and UEFA Champions League slate from a DFS and betting perspective.

Fantasy Premier League - The Watchlist

The Watchlist is our monthly Fantasy Premier League article where we identify over and underachievers from the last month to recommend excellent FPL picks for the short to medium-term future. We will review each position and look at the fixtures before recommending five players for the upcoming calendar month.

September's Fantasy Premier League High Scorers

  • Goalkeeper: Nick Pope, Newcastle - 20 points
  • Defender: Kieran Tripper, Newcastle - 38 points
  • Midfielder: Son Heung-min, Spurs - 43 points
  • Forward: Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa - 39 points

Fantasy Premier League Fixtures - October

Best Fixtures

  • Bournemouth: at Everton, Wolves, Burnley
  • Aston Villa: at Wolves, West Ham, Luton
  • Spurs: at Luton, Fulham, at Crystal Palace
  • Liverpool: at Brighton, Everton, Nottingham Forest
  • Newcastle: at West Ham, Crystal Palace, at Wolves

Worst Fixtures

  • Man City: at Arsenal, Brighton, at Man United
  • Brighton: Liverpool, at Man City, Fulham
  • Arsenal: Man City, at Chelsea, Sheffield United
  • Man United: Brentford, at Sheffield United, Man City
  • Sheffield United: at Fulham, Man United, at Arsenal

Fantasy Premier League Five To Watch - October

Ollie Watkins

  • Ollie Watkins scored his first Premier League goal of the campaign in Gameweek 6, and then the floodgates opened. The Aston Villa striker bagged a hat trick in Gameweek 7 and has beautiful fixtures in the short term. If you are looking to move to a 3-4-3 formation, Watkins must be under consideration.

Kieran Trippier

  • After a slow-starting August, Kieran Trippier turned it up to 11 in September. The defender took advantage of the easy fixtures and found four assists in FPL along with some clean sheets. Trippier is a massive bonus points magnet in FPL, so an attacking return or clean sheet almost locks him into at least one bonus point every outing.

Ebrechi Eze

  • It hasn't been a seamless transition from role player to talisman for Ebrechi Eze at Crystal Palace, but things are looking up. He's featured in the underachievers section in September and October's Watchlist, and it only feels like a matter of time before the midfielder explodes. A home game versus Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 8 is a great place to start.

Alphonse Areola

  • At £4.2M, Alphonse Areola is the best keeper in Fantasy Premier League. He tops the overachievers section, but it doesn't matter due to his price tag. A home game versus Newcastle and then an away fixture against Aston Villa set up a tough October, but he saved 69.6 percent of the shots he faced in September and could be a sneaky source of save points for the next two gameweeks.

Dominic Solanke

  • There was some early-season momentum that Bournemouth could take another step in the Premier League, but that excitement has sputtered. I'm betting on it reigniting with its upcoming fixture run. Home matches against Wolves and Burnley come after a tasty away tilt against Everton.
