Chase Briscoe Fast At Tracks Like Talladega
1 year agoChase Briscoe has had a rather baffling season. After being one of the breakout drivers of 2022, many people expected Briscoe to challenge Kevin Harvick to be the leader at Stewart-Haas Racing. Instead, Briscoe has been the slowest SHR driver by far this year, ranking only 28th in speed. However, despite his mediocrity elsewhere, Briscoe has certainly had speed on drafting tracks. Except for the spring Martinsville race, all 73 of his laps led have come at Daytona and Talladega and in the most recent drafting race at Daytona, he won the pole and led a race-high 67 laps. Given the general Ford speed and his third place qualifying run, he will likely run up front for most of the race unless something goes wrong.
