Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman was the 27th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Bateman had a productive college career, totaling 147 receptions for 2,410 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns in three years at Minnesota.
The former Golden Gopher had a solid rookie season, totaling 46 receptions on 68 targets for 515 receiving yards and a touchdown in 12 games. However, fantasy players were excited to draft the second-year player in 2022 after the Ravens traded away Marquise Brown during the NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, Bateman struggled to stay healthy last season, totaling only 15 receptions on 28 targets for 285 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The former Minnesota star missed 11 games because of foot injuries.

Is Rashod Bateman Playing In Week 4?
While Baltimore added Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers during the offseason, fantasy players hoped Bateman could bounce back in 2023. Unfortunately, the third-year receiver has barely made an impact this season, playing only 56.4% of the snaps over the first three weeks.
He has caught seven of nine targets for 59 receiving yards, scoring only 9.4 half-point PPR fantasy points this season. More importantly, Bateman suffered a hamstring injury in Week 3. The injury will keep him from playing in Week 4 against the divisional rival Cleveland Browns.
Unfortunately, the Ravens will be without Bateman and Beckham this week. The veteran suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 and missed last week’s matchup.
Should I Pickup And Start Nelson Agholor?
Zay Flowers has become the No. 1 wide receiver in Baltimore. However, the depth behind him is extremely thin. The Ravens only have three healthy wide receivers on the 53-man roster – Flowers, Agholor, and Devin Duvernay.
Over the past two weeks, Agholor has nine receptions on 10 targets for 102 receiving yards and a touchdown, totaling 20.7 fantasy points. However, he has a tough matchup this week against the Browns. Cleveland has surrendered only 14.9 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, the fewest in the NFL.
Instead, fantasy players should add Marvin Mims Jr. off the waiver wire and start him this week. The rookie receiver leads the team in receiving yards (195), yards per route run (7.22), and target per route run rate (33.3%). He has an excellent matchup in Week 4 against an awful Chicago Bears secondary. Mims is rostered in only 15.2% of ESPN leagues.
