Chris Bassitt Hits 200 Innings For First Time
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Bassitt was magnificent Thursday, tossing 7 ⅔ shutout innings and earning the win in a 6-0 victory over the New York Yankees. Bassitt allowed five hits and one walk while striking out a season-high 12 batters. The 34-year-old will end the season at exactly 200 innings pitched, a feat he has never accomplished before. It has been a great year for the veteran, who has pitched to a 3.60 ERA and 1.18 WHIP while racking up 186 strikeouts in the aforementioned 200 IP. He will have solid mid-round value next season.
