Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was the 34th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Watson had a productive college career at North Dakota State, totaling 104 receptions for 2,134 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
More importantly, the star receiver had an impressive rookie season. Watson had 41 receptions on 66 targets for 611 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2022, ending the year as the WR34, averaging 10.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Despite the Packers trading away Aaron Rodgers during the offseason, the second-year wide receiver was a popular mid-round fantasy draft pick. Unfortunately, Watson hasn’t made his season debut after suffering a hamstring injury during the preseason.

Is Christian Watson Injured Or Healthy?
Earlier this week, the former North Dakota State star said he planned on playing Thursday in a critical matchup against the NFC North division rivals. However, head coach Matt LaFleur made it sound like Watson was more of a 50-50 call for tomorrow night’s matchup against the Detroit Lions.
The Packers listed the second-year wide receiver as questionable for tomorrow’s game. It is the fourth consecutive week that Watson was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report.
Hopefully, fans get to see the star receiver make his season debut against the Lions. However, that doesn’t mean fantasy players should start the former North Dakota State star in his first game back from the injury.
Should I Start Christian Watson In Week 4?
Green Bay could easily put Watson on a snap count against Detroit. The last thing the team wants to see is the star receiver re-aggravate the hamstring injury and have to miss several weeks. Furthermore, the Packers’ offense is clicking without the second-year receiver.
Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks have combined averaged 8.7 receptions for 120.7 receiving yards and two touchdowns per game this season. The team has an excellent set of young wide receivers and doesn’t need to rush Watson back onto the field.
If Green Bay is without the second-year star again this week, Doubs is an appealing replacement fantasy option. The former Nevada star has averaged 12.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He also leads the team with three receiving touchdowns, including one last week against the Atlanta Falcons.
