1 year agoLos Angeles Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval (oblique) hit the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, according to Angels PR. In a corresponding move, the club recalled lefty Kolten Ingram to join the bullpen. With less than a week to go in the regular season, the 26-year-old Sandoval won't pitch until 2024, as the Angels are set to miss the playoffs. He last pitched on Monday against the Texas Rangers and experienced right oblique tightness before leaving early. Across 144 2/3 innings this year, Sandoval pitched to a 4.11 ERA, 19.6% strikeout rate, 11.3% walk rate, and 1.51 WHIP with seven victories. The five-year veteran remains arbitration-eligible, so he'll likely head into next season as a member of the Angels rotation once again.--Spencer Seguin
