New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft after a nuclear final season at Texas Christian University. His landing spot with the Saints drew varying reactions, as Jamaal Williams and Alvin Kamara were already on the roster.
After missing the first two weeks of the season with a hamstring issue, Miller made his NFL debut in Week 3.
How did Miller perform in Week 3 and is he worth picking up from the waiver wire heading into Week 4? Let's dive in.

What Did Kendre Miller Do In Week 3?
In his first career NFL game, Miller rushed nine times for 34 yards and caught one pass for no gain. Meanwhile, Tony Jones Jr. rushed eight times for 31 yards and caught four passes for 21 yards.
Obviously, his game against the Green Bay Packers wasn't a strong performance in terms of fantasy output, but it was nice to see him get involved right away. As the season rolls forward, he should be able to beat out Jones Jr., who was a practice squad member in Week 1.
Should I Pickup Kendre Miller Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
Alvin Kamara is set to return in Week 4 after serving his three-game suspension. However, Jamaal Williams (hamstring) was placed on Injured Reserve last week, meaning his earliest possible return will be in Week 7.
Kamara, the former Pro Bowler, should operate as the clear lead back upon his return against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, Miller could slot in as an early-down running back and primary backup for the veteran.
With Derek Carr (shoulder) out of action, the Saints will likely try to rely on its defense and ground attack. Miller may not be worth starting this week, but he is worth picking up in 14-plus team leagues as Kamara's fantasy handcuff. After Week 4, we'll get to see what the touch distribution will look like in the New Orleans backfield.
