Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has seen more opportunities in the passing game in the first couple of weeks of the season with wideout Christian Watson (hamstring) nursing an injury. Doubs has certainly cashed in on those chances so far.
The second-year wideout has caught three touchdown passes through three weeks and looks to be quarterback Jordan Love's go-to target. Doubs caught the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter to give the Packers the win over the New Orleans Saints this past weekend.
So, is Doubs a good fantasy football pickup for Week 4? Let's dive in.
What Did Romeo Doubs Do In Week 3?
Without Watson on the field, Doubs has undoubtedly been Love's favorite target through the air. In Week 3, that was evident against a tough Saints secondary.
Doubs caught a season-high five passes for 73 yards and one touchdown on Sunday. The touchdown came late in the game when the wideout was one-on-one with a Saints cornerback. Love saw that and let his player make a play by lobbing it up to him. Doubs came down with it and helped the team secure the victory.
As long as Watson is out, Doubs will be featured heavily on offense. The young wideout saw a team-high 12 targets in Week 3 and is up to 11 catches for 129 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Two of his three touchdowns came in Week 1.
Is Romeo Doubs A Good Fantasy Football Pickup for Week 4?
Entering Week 4 of the fantasy season, Doubs can be a solid waiver wire pickup. He continues to develop a strong connection with Love in the red zone, and Watson is still dealing with his hamstring issue, which might cause him to miss another game on Thursday against the Detroit Lions on a short week.
So, if you need a wide receiver this week, Doubs can easily fill in as a WR3/flex play in a solid matchup. His rest of season outlook, though, with Watson back might not be as strong as other waiver claims like Los Angeles Chargers wideout Joshua Palmer or Houston Texans wideout Tank Dell.
Doubs is a solid pickup on waivers, especially if you need someone in Week 4. But I'm not willing to spend much money for him on waivers if you are in a Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB).
