Ryan Blaney's Speeding Penalty Costs Him Big At Texas
1 year agoAfter finishing in the top-10 in the first two stages of Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, Ryan Blaney ended the day in P28. Blaney, who has performed well at "The Great American Track" throughout his Cup career, looked well on his way to yet another impressive finish when mental mistakes caught up with him. Specifically, a speeding penalty on lap 211 sent the No. 12 to the back of the field, which caused him to get tied up in a six-car wreck on lap 257, ending any hopes he had of finishing the day on a positive note. Because of Sunday's poor finish, the Team Penske star will need big performances over the next two weeks as he currently sits 11th in the NASCAR playoff standings.
