Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds has been excellent thus far this season, catching nine passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. The 28-year-old spent multiple seasons as a complementary wide receiver with Jared Goff with the Los Angeles Rams, and the two are on the same page early in 2023.
Needless to say, Reynolds was a hot waiver wire add in each of the last two weeks and is in the start 'em, sit 'em conversion heading into Week 3.
Should you start Reynolds in Week 3? Where does he rank among wide receivers? Let's dive in.

Josh Reynolds Fantasy Football Outlook
It's worth noting both Reynolds (groin) and Amon-Ra St. Brown carry questionable tags into the matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. If St. Brown is out and Reynolds plays, he's an obvious must-start. Be sure to monitor the inactives report, which comes out 90 minutes before kickoff.
If both wideouts play, Reynolds should see plenty of action against the Falcons. Atlanta has allowed the 7th-fewest fantasy points to the position through two weeks, but the wide receivers they have faced consist of Jayden Reed, Terrace Marshall Jr., Adam Thielen, Jonathan Mingo, and Dontayvion Wicks. Wicks and Reed combined to score three touchdowns against Atlanta in Week 2.
With David Montgomery (thigh) unlikely to play, Detroit might lean on its passing attack even more. Overall, Reynolds has a favorable outlook.
Josh Reynolds Wide Receiver Rankings Analysis
Our consensus staff rankings have Reynolds in the WR52 slot for Week 3 in half-PPR scoring. He has scored the 11th-most fantasy points among wideouts this season, but two touchdowns, which are difficult to project, obviously inflate his early-season numbers. That said, it's too early to get too bullish on him and rank him as a top-36 wideout.
The veteran receiver is ranked between Jayden Reed and Allen Robinson II in our wide receiver pecking order.
Should I Start Josh Reynolds In Week 3 Fantasy Football?
The "Who Should I Start" tool tells us Reynolds should be benched for players like Skyy Moore and Courtland Sutton, but he should be played over the likes of Tyler Boyd, Mack Hollins, and Darnell Mooney.
Ultimately, Reynolds is one of the last receivers around his placement in the rankings that has a real path to a top-24 week. Opportunity is there, but it's important not to overreact to his fantastic start.
