Ross Chastain Offers Less Upside At Texas
1 year agoRoss Chastain will kick off the second round of the NASCAR playoffs starting fifth in Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Heading into Texas, Chastain finds himself ninth in the playoff standings. Given that only the top eight will advance, the Trackhouse Racing star will have to be disciplined over the next couple of weeks if he hopes to point his way into the next round. This could be problematic for the 7-year Cup veteran as he has struggled in his six Cup starts at Texas. Considering that he has zero top tens and an average finish of just 25.2 at "The Great American Speedway," the data just does not justify playing the No. 1 on Sunday, particularly given that he offers no place differential upside.
