Aaron Loup Done For The Year
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Angels placed left-hander Aaron Loup (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Friday after he felt something in his shoulder after pitching against the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week on Sept. 19. His season is now over after the 35-year-old southpaw reliever recorded a 6.10 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 48 2/3 innings this year. The Angels hold a team option on Loup for next year, but they are likely to pay a $2 million buyout on his contract and make him a free agent. Loup had a save and nine holds for the Halos in 2023. Pitcher Davis Daniel was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to take Loup's spot on the active roster.
