One year after getting shot by criminals attempting to rob him, Brian Robinson Jr. is the undisputed RB1 in Washington and the RB2 in fantasy football (standard scoring) after two weeks.
He's run for 146 yards and two touchdowns in two games, and he already has almost as many receiving yards as he did through all of last season. This week, the 24-year-old faces the Buffalo Bills.
Is Robinson a good choice to start as a fantasy RB in Week 3? How did he do last week, and what should we expect of him this week against Buffalo? Let's take a look.

What Did Brian Robinson Jr. Do In Weeks 1 And 2?
In Week 1, Robinson dominated carries in the Commanders' backfield. He ran the ball 19 times for 59 yards. He also caught one pass for a seven-yard touchdown. His heavy rushing volume combined with the touchdown led him to finish as the RB16. But his efficiency was less-than-desirable.
In Week 2, Robinson still had the most carries--18--and he also averaged a healthy 4.8 yards per carry. Best of all for those starting Robinson, he scored two rushing touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 42 yards. He finished as RB4 in PPR scoring.
After two weeks, Robinson is RB2 in standard scoring and RB3 in PPR scoring. For a fantasy player who was being drafted as RB34 (one spot behind his bust of a teammate Antonio Gibson), Robinson has been a great value for fantasy managers.
Brian Robinson Jr. Running Back Rankings Analysis
Robinson is the No. 17 RB in the latest RotoBaller staff rankings, and he is rising.
17 | 42 | 3 | ↑ |
His Week 3 matchup puts him in the third-tier of starters, but at RB17, he lands in the RB2 spot on most teams that roster him.
Should I Start Brian Robinson Jr. in Week 3 Fantasy Football?
Yes, you should start Brian Robinson Jr. as your RB1 or RB2 in Week 3. Robinson is clearly the Commanders' leading running back. If he keeps getting nearly 20 carries a game, he will produce high yardage totals even if he isn't efficient. When he is efficient, he will be one of the leading rushers of the week, as he was last week.
The Bills defense has a reputation that precedes its performance. Its linebacking core has declined since last season, and its defensive line has not quite played up to its potential.
Buffalo is averaging 5.3 yards per carry, the second-most in the league. Part of that is due to them having been torched by the Jets' Breece Hall in Week 1. His 83-yard run alone had an impact on increasing their average yards allowed.
Nonetheless, the Bills defense isn't some kind of iron curtain that will shut everything down. As we get deeper into the season, we will see the Bills defense is close to average. Brian Robinson Jr. is playing well enough to start against any defense, let alone the Bills.
