MacKenzie Gore's Season Is Over
1 year agoWashington Nationals manager Dave Martinez confirmed that left-hander MacKenzie Gore's (finger) season is over. The team was close to shutting him down innings-wise anyway, but his blister was the deciding factor. The Nationals put Gore on the 15-day injured list last Saturday due to the blister on one of his left fingers, and now he's officially done for the rest of the year. The 24-year-old southpaw had a decent first full season in the big leagues in 2023 in his first year in D.C., going 7-10 with a 4.42 ERA (4.89 FIP), 1.40 WHIP, 57 walks and 151 strikeouts in 136 1/3 innings over 27 starts for the Nats. Gore will look to build on that in his third major-league season in 2024.
