Randal Grichuk Leaves After Getting Hit In The Head
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Randal Grichuk (head) took a pitch to the head in Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays and was forced to leave the game early. The good news is that he was able to leave the field under his own power. It was a glancing blow that ricocheted off of Grichuk's helmet, so hopefully he was able to avoid a serious head injury. The 32-year-old veteran will most certainly be evaluated for a concussion and should be considered day-to-day for now. Don't be surprised if he's not in the lineup on Wednesday as a precaution. Before leaving early, he went hitless in three at-bats with a strikeout to drop his season average to .270. Grichuk was hitting much better with the Rockies before being acquired by the Angels at the trade deadline. Entering Tuesday's game, he had gone 32-for-150 (213) with seven homers in 43 games for the Halos.
