Yennier Cano Earns One-Out Save Monday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Yennier Cano earned his seventh save of the season in Monday's 8-7 win over the Astros. Cano came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by one with two outs and the tying run on third, ending the game with a strikeout. The 29-year-old has pitched well this season and has filled in as closer while Felix Bautista (elbow) attempts to recover from a partial UCL tear in his throwing elbow. Cano should be rostered in at least all roto leagues for the final few weeks of the season if Bautista is not able to return.

Yennier Cano Notches Third Save
10 months agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Yennier Cano was called upon to get out of a jam during Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The O's were up 8-3 but a walk and two errors loaded up the bases for Philly in the ninth inning. After that, O's manager Brandon Hyde decided to go with Cano to get the final out of the game. The right-hander needed only four pitches as he struck out the only batter he faced. He earned himself his third save of the season, but remains behind Craig Kimbrel in a set-up role.

Yennier Cano Tagged With Loss
10 months agoBaltimore Orioles reliever Yennier Cano took the loss in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners. The 30-year-old entered the game in the eighth with the game tied at 2-2 but allowed a leadoff single and then a double that plated one run, then was lifted from the game after recording the first out. Cionel Perez gave up a double that allowed Cano's runner to score and the O's would be down 4-2, unable to complete a comeback after that. Cano has been mostly solid, posting a 2.95 ERA while recording 10 holds and two saves on the season, although the 1.36 WHIP could use some improving and he's blown two saves.

Yennier Cano Notches First Save Of The Season
11 months agoBaltimore Orioles reliever Yennier Cano allowed a walk while striking out one over 2/3 innings in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Craig Kimbrel entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. Kimbrel was pulled from the save situation after he allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter in one-third of an inning. Cano replaced Kimbrel and retired two of the three batters he faced to notch his first save of the season. Kimbrel has been dealing with a back tightness and has blown back-to-back saves. The Orioles could turn to Cano for saves while Kimbrel is struggling. Cano owns a 2.08 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts over 17 1/3 innings. Fantasy managers searching for saves should add Cano in all league formats.

Yennier Cano Earns Sixth Save Of Season Monday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Yennier Cano earned his sixth save of the season in Monday's 6-3 win over the Angels. Cano came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by three and delivered a 1-2-3 inning with no strikeouts. It was the 29-year-old's second save since star closer Felix Bautista (elbow) went on the injured list at the end of August. Cano has been excellent in his own right, compiling a 1.65 ERA and a 7.99 K/9 rate on the season. While Bautista's return remains without a timetable, Cano should be rostered in all leagues at this time given his new role.
