Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers was the 52nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Akers had a productive college career, totaling 586 rushing attempts for 2,875 yards and 27 touchdowns in three years at Florida State.
The former Seminole has had a limited NFL career because of injuries. He missed all but one game in 2021 because of a torn Achilles. Akers has played only 30 of 52 possible career games (57.7%). However, the former second-round pick ended the 2022 season on fire.
Akers was stoppable over the final three weeks last year. He averaged 21 rushing attempts for 115 yards and a touchdown per game. More importantly, the former Seminole was the RB1 over those three weeks, averaging 20.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

Will The Rams Trade Cam Akers?
Following his outstanding finish to the 2022 season, fantasy players had high hopes for Akers this year. Unfortunately, things have been a disaster. The veteran running back averaged only 1.3 yards per rushing attempt and had 8.9 fantasy points in Week 1.
Meanwhile, Kyren Williams was the more productive Los Angeles running back against the Seattle Seahawks. Then Akers was a surprise last-minute inactive for the Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams are exploring trade options with the veteran running back. Head coach Sean McVay said the Rams have spoken with several teams and are trending toward trading away Akers.
Which Teams Would Be The Best Fit?
Unfortunately, several teams could use a running back. The Cleveland Browns lost Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury on Monday night. While Jerome Ford played well after Chubb left the game, the Browns would be foolish not to consider trading for a running back.
Another potential landing spot is the Baltimore Ravens. They lost J.K. Dobbins for the season because of a torn Achilles in Week 1. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill were productive in the Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, totaling 21 rushing attempts for 103 yards and 19 fantasy points. However, Akers would be a significant upgrade over both players.
Hopefully, the former Florida State star gets traded this week and can play like he did to send the 2022 season.
