Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper is coming off of a big season for fantasy football, and although he had a quiet Week 1 performance, he’s still very much on the fantasy radar.
However, the veteran is dealing with an injury ahead of the Week 2 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. Players being banged up heading into Monday night games always puts fantasy managers in a tough spot, so we have the latest update.

Amari Cooper Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Cooper (groin), who aggravated a groin injury at practice on Saturday, is considered unlikely to play on Monday night against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source. The Browns officially listed Cooper as questionable to play on Saturday.
Fantasy managers should remove Cooper from their starting lineups now and hope he can return to action in Week 3 at home against the Tennessee Titans.
With Cooper expected to be out, the Browns' passing attack will have to lean more heavily on Donovan People-Jones, Elijah Moore and Marquise Goodwin, with rookie Cedric Tillman also having a bigger role. Tight end David Njoku will see more targets through the air as well from quarterback Deshaun Watson. Unfortunately, it could be too late for fantasy managers to pivot from him.
Amari Cooper Week 2 Fantasy Outlook
We likely won’t know if Cooper will officially be out until Monday evening.
If you have bench slots open, you could consider adding Donovan Peoples-Jones, Calvin Austin III, or Allen Robinson II. That way, you can slot in one of the three wideouts playing in the Monday night game if Cooper is ruled out.
If he’s surprisingly active, he remains a must-start after posting a fantasy WR1 season last year. The Steelers' secondary was picked apart by Brock Purdy in Week 1 and should present a favorable matchup for the Browns’ pass-catchers.
