Johnny Cueto Doesn't Last Long Against Braves
1 year agoMiami Marlins right-hander Johnny Cueto wasn't very effective in a no-decision on Friday night in an eventual 9-6 win over the visiting Atlanta Braves. Cueto allowed three earned runs on seven hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out two in only four innings of work. The veteran 37-year-old Dominican hurler has only appeared in 10 games (nine starts) for the Fish in 2023 and hasn't been very good. And since he returned from the injured list on Sept. 2, he's given up 11 earned runs on 17 hits (four homers) while walking five and striking out only nine in 12 2/3 innings over three starts. Cueto has a 6.20 season ERA and 1.29 WHIP and has very little fantasy upside at this point in his career.
