Elijah Mitchell - Week 2 Outlook for Fantasy Football
1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell was mostly uninvolved in the team's Week 1 victory at the Pittsburgh Steelers, handling only five carries and being targeted only once in the passing game. He didn't find much success in his few opportunities either, finishing with 10 yards and no catches. Regardless, Mitchell remains a rosterable fantasy asset. Either the 49ers will continue to expose starter Christian McCaffrey to injury by giving him 25 touches per game, or they'll back off and give some of those looks to Mitchell. In both scenarios, Mitchell's fantasy value is stable. For their Week 2 matchup, the 49ers go to Los Angeles to face an unproven Rams defense. Fantasy managers should only start Mitchell as a deep-league flex option while praying for a touchdown or garbage-time yardage.
