Jaylen Waddle Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Waddle (oblique) remained on the injury report ahead of the Week 2 game against the division-rival New England Patriots, and he was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. However, he returned to full practice on Thursday. Waddle was on last week's injury report as well before playing in the season-opening win over the Los Angeles Chargers. For now, we can assume he'll play.
In last week's game the 24-year-old took a back seat to Tyreek Hill, catching four of his five targets for 78 yards. Unless he suffers a setback later this week, fantasy managers should have Waddle locked into their starting lineups for this Sunday night.
Jaylen Waddle Week 2 Fantasy Outlook
While Hill is Tua Tagovaila's No. 1 target, Waddle has proven to have plenty of fantasy value as his WR2.
It's worth noting that Tagovailoa has struggled mightily in games against the Patriots, passing for just 181.5 yards per game and throwing three total touchdowns to two interceptions in four contests.
That said, Waddle remains a must-start in all matchups until further notice. It's important not to overreact to Week 1, but the Dolphins should have a top-five passing attack this season after posting 466 yards through the air in Week 1.
Waddle will likely have plenty of ups and downs throughout the season, but his ceiling rivals all wideouts in fantasy football.
