Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has had plenty of fantasy football value in PPR formats during his first two seasons in the NFL. He was a sleeper to enter top-five territory at the position heading into the 2023 campaign.
However, he's dealing with an injury after the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Will Feiermuth play in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns? What is his fantasy football outlook for Week 2? Let's dive in.

Pat Freiermuth Injury Updates for Fantasy Football
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he's optimistic about tight end Pat Freiermuth (chest) playing in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football. Freiermuth injured his chest in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and was forced to leave the game, although it doesn't sound like a serious injury and he may not have to miss any time at all. Before leaving, the 24-year-old caught his only target for a three-yard touchdown.
If Freiermuth is limited or out against Cleveland, Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward would be forced to pick up the slack at the tight end position.
Pat Freiermuth Week 2 Fantasy Outlook
Although it's important not to overreact to Week 1 results, the Cleveland defense was impressive against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in responding victory.
The Browns held Burrow to just 14 completions on 31 attempts for a paltry 82 passing yards. This could set up to be another ugly AFC North dogfight, so Freiermuth projects to be a shaky TE1 play if he's active.
The position is scarce so fantasy managers will still likely want to start him, especially since Diontae Johnson (hamstring) is likely going to miss the Week 2 game on Monday Night.
